No Strings Attached: An Invitation to Those Who Found Us Through the Erie Times-News
Recently, Trinity Anglican Fellowship began placing ads in the 'Faith' section of the Erie (PA) Times-News. Like other churches, we give a brief description of ourselves, our service time and location, and the address to this website. Since placing the ads, there has been a remarkable spike in visits to the website on Saturdays--the day the ad is published. While I am grateful to those of you who have responded by showing up to worship with us, I wish here to extend an invitation to those of you who have visited only through cyberspace.
I know there are different reasons a website gets visits. There are the search engine crawlers simply adding to their databases. We get those visits. There are also people who stumble across our site because we came up during a Google search for something like "lancelot andrewes fivefold dictum" or "learn to pray the anglican way." But we also end up in search strings for "Lake Erie Anglican Church" "Confessing Anglicans Erie," or "amia erie pa" (our 'Site Statistics' provide this information). There are people out there looking for something who get sent our way. I am wondering if those of you who visit our site on Saturdays are looking for something, too. Perhaps you are part of the Anglican Tradition and are concerned with the theological and biblical direction the church you love is taking. Perhaps you are someone from a more low-church, evangelical tradition who is looking for a deeper worship experience or more ancient Christian roots. Maybe you are among our 'beloved critics' who do not understand why we felt led to affiliate with "rogue dioceses" and "trouble-makers" or whatever else we are being called these days. There is a lot of misinformation, and, I fear, a little disinformation out there about us (some of it has trickled our way), and you should at least hear our own take on what we are doing. You may even not be sure what you believe or where you stand, but you know that you want to know God and walk the path of eternal life. If your interest is more than cursory and your motives genuine, I offer an invitation to talk--with no strings attached. My name is William, and I can be reached at Trinity@theleca.org, or you can call 814-806-0957 (but you'll most likely have to leave a message). We can talk on the phone or have an email exchange. I would also be happy to meet with you individually or informally with your group.
Of course, you may decide to visit us directly one Sunday morning. We worship at 10:30 a.m. at 628 West 18 St., Erie. You can find directions HERE. Right now, we worship in a rented sanctuary (which is more like a chapel) called 'Odessa's Place.' We share the parking lot with the International Bakery, on the north side of the street.
If you have been visiting us online, I do hope that you accept my invitation. At the very least, you will understand better where we are coming from. Perhaps, though, God has a plan that includes the both of us working together for his kingdom. Either way, I look forward to hearing from you--and remember, no strings attached.
